Powering Leicester's Low-Carbon Future
Bring Energy operates Leicester’s city-wide heat network under a 25-year partnership with Leicester City Council. The scheme delivers sustainable heating across key civic, residential, and university sites, forming a vital part of the city’s wider decarbonisation strategy.

Delivering Affordable, Low-Carbon Heat Across Leicester
The Leicester District Energy network supplies affordable, low-carbon heat to over 3,000 homes, 15 public buildings, and the University of Leicester, supporting the city’s ambition to become carbon neutral.
Heat is generated from a mix of gas-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and biomass, distributed through 13 km of pipework across six major housing estates. The network provides a secure and efficient energy source while actively reducing emissions - achieving annual carbon savings of around 6,000 tonnes.
The Future
Ongoing upgrades, including efficiency improvements and low-carbon plant expansion, ensure that the network continues to deliver reliable service while aligning with future net-zero standards.
