For over 15 years, the Birmingham District Energy network has delivered reliable, efficient heat and power to the city. Through its combined heat and power systems, it saves more than 14,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year - supporting Birmingham’s path to net zero.

Powering the City’s Landmark Buildings

The network supplies low-carbon heat and electricity to many of Birmingham’s most important destinations, including New Street Station, the International Convention Centre, the Utilita Arena, the Library of Birmingham, Birmingham Town Hall, the Rep Theatre, the Museum & Art Gallery, Aston University and Birmingham Children’s Hospital
